KLLD · Andaman CoastKoh Kho Khao (also written Ko Kho Khao) is a small island 8 km off the Khao Lak coast in the Andaman Sea, part of Mu Koh Surin National Park’s outer zone. With no permanent tourist infrastructure — no ferry service, no resort — the island is visited only by private longtail charters, offering white-sand beaches, healthy reef snorkelling, and a level of solitude rarely found on the Thai tourist trail. The island was severely affected by the 2004 tsunami and rebuilt slowly, retaining an authentic, quiet character.
Access is by private longtail boat from Bang La On or the Khao Lak main beach area. The crossing takes approximately 20–30 minutes. There is no scheduled ferry service. Khao Lak tour operators can arrange a private boat charter upon request.
Guests arriving from Phuket Airport can arrange a private transfer to their Khao Lak resort from ฿1,800 and then organise the boat day trip separately from the beach the following morning.
