The Surin Islands are truly perfect for snorkelling, swimming and relaxing. Therefore we have to snorkel stops of 45 minutes each and some more time on one of the a bit more hidden beaches. We will reach it by longtail boat, to enjoy a tasty Thai lunch in the sun.
As the Surin islands are the only inhabited archipelago, you will get the chance to visit the small fishing village with original wooden huts and own culture.
Traditionally the Moken, a group of sea-faring people used to live on their houseboats at least half of a year. Living together in a village on land was only temporarily common during monsoon season.
Now they started to settle down, but they still own an impressive knowledge related to underwater hunting and diving.

The Surin Islands are part of the Surin Marine National Park and have an area of about 141 sq. km, amazingly 80% of them are under water.
The national park consists of five islands and is about 100 km away from the border with Myanmar. They lie 60 km west off the coast of Phang Nga and Ranong Provinces; approximately 100 km north of Khao Lak.
Moken, or sea gypsies, live on the islands, which are covered with forests and surrounded by turquoise water, resulting in a pristine tropical paradise. They have stunning coral reefs, a diverse array of marinelife and a beautiful sandy beach. The Surin Islands are known for their shallow waters.
