A breathtaking tour with an incredible guide!

My husband and I were were absolutely blown away by this tour!Gift was such a wonderful guide with personal and in-depth knowledge of each temple location. We finished the tour knowing so much more about the culture of Thai people and the history of Buddhism. Each temple was quite different, the first one located in a cave, the second one was quite mind blowingly beautiful and grand, and the final one was a local temple where we had the opportunity to learn about prayer ritual if we wanted to (no pressure to do this if you don't want to), and also be blessed by the Monk. The wax museum at the last temple was pretty interesting too.Between the 2nd and 3rd temples we had a lunch stop at a local restaurant with a spectacular view over the river. The food was delicious - so much food and with great options for people with dietary restrictions.I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that would like to learn about the culture, religion and also enjoy some pretty spectacular sights, with a knowledgeable and very sweet guide.I recommend taking shoes that are easy to get on and off as you will be removing them quite a bit. There is a little bit of steep climbing up steps to get to the first temple cave so if you are afraid of heights or unable to climb stairs, you might have to sit this temple out. But the other two temples are easy enough to access.

An amazing day out in Khao Sok - not to be missed

My wife and I booked the Khao Lak Land Discovery Khao Sok Day Trip. This was a whole day tour and was fantastic. Our guide was Gift, who spoke perfect English and was absolutely delightful. Nothing was too hard and she was incredibly knowledgeable. We were picked up at our resort and first went to Takua Pa’s morning market. This was mainly a food market and Gift explained the different fruits and vegetables and then we had time to meander. Gift bought some sticky rice delicacies for us to have later. We then stopped at a waterfall which, unfortunately had no water. Not Gift’s fault! Then to an amazing viewpoint where you see across the valley to the mountains. Really spectacular. We then had one of the highlights. We visited en elephant sanctuary and went down to the river where we washed and scrubbed the elephant and fed the elephant bananas. It was interesting to see how such a large animal was so gentle, We had cold drinks and fresh fruit there as well.We stopped at the monkey temple. This was really interesting. The original temple was built in a massive cave and there were monkeys everywhere. We had lunch at the Rock and Treehouse Resort. Lunch was Thai style with Tom Yum Soup (a little milder for us westerners), Pad Thai and dishes with chicken and vegetables. Clearly freshly made and absolutely delicious. My wife is vegetarian and they made special food for her, including tofu. After lunch another highlight. We took a canoe trip down the Sok river. There were two people plus the guide/paddler in each canoe. The scenery was spectacular, with huge cliffs and wild jungle. We saw 2 snakes on the way. Half way we stopped for afternoon tea. The guides cut coffee cups from bamboo, including stirring spoons. They built a fire and made the coffee. We enjoyed the sticky rice delights which were - interesting. We finally returned to our resort at about 4.30pm. It was an amazing day and I strongly recommend this tour to anyone. The elephants and the canoe trip were amazing.
