Initial communication was good and quick when inquiring about the 3 day trip, however I should have asked more questions in advance as the website did not provide information that in retrospect, I should have known about. When independently researching the Rock and Tree house, I found detailed information on the internet as well as their website, however there was nothing about the raft house - no images or name provided. I should have asked the company directly as the raft house used by Khao Lak Land Discovery was a 2.5hr longtail boat ride to a very basic raft house with no electricity (unlike others I had seen online at the same location and to the lovely raft houses we went to for lunch) - something we only found out the night before this part of the trip because we asked our guide to go through the itinerary for the next day. With two young children, we wished we had known this before, no information was available on the the company website to inform us of this so we assumed it would be a similar standard to the tree house - which was superb. Having decided that we could not stay somewhere with no electricity and sleeping on the floor in accommodation separated from each other which unsettled the children, our guide, Tanya, was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble to reschedule our itinerary and book an extra night at the tree house. (At additional costs to us). Tanya had lots of ideas of things we could do in Kho Sok National park and was only too happy to take us the turtle sanctuary and Poseidon Beach on the way back to Khao Lak. She was incredibly flexible, enthusiastic, energetic and great with the children. A very expensive trip and not as we had anticipated but lots of memorable experiences enjoyed by all and the most was made of the situation.

Gut organisierter Ausflug in den Nationalpark. Nach 1 ständiger Busfahrt, Zwischenstop im Rock Treehouse zum Frühstück, sehr eindrückliche Anlage. Am Stausee angekommen, 1 stündige Bootsfahrt mit dem Longboot an verschiedensten Kalksteinfelsen und Höhlen vorbei auf dem unendlich erscheinenden Stausee. Dann eine 1 1/2 stündige Wanderung im Dschungel, erwartungsvoll auf der suche nach Tieren wurden wir leider enttäuscht. Ausser 5 Ameisen und einem Blutegel und tausender leerer Schneckenhäuser hatten wir kein Glück. Anschliessend wieder zurück zum Boot und nach kurzer Fahrt erreichten wir ein schwimmendes Motel, wo wir unseres Mittagessen bekamen. Sehr lecker von Fisch bis Thai Omeletten. Kurzer Badeplausch und danach wieder eine 1 Stündige Rückfahrt. Mit dem Bus zum Aussichtspunk. Anschliessend, 3/4 Stunde,Rückfahrt zu einer buddhistischen Höhle mit Fischfütterung. dann die Rückfahrt ins Hotel. Nette fachliche Guides .

Wir waren 4 Tage mit Rollo im Khao Sok Nationalpark unterwegs und es war super klasse. Rollo war perfekt vorbereitet und hat uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt und so diese Tour mit Kanu fahren, off Road Tour, Stausee erkunden mit Longtail Boot und Bambusfloß, Wanderungen und Elefantencamp zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis gemacht. This is a mixed review. For what it was, this was not cheap. 2500 baht for each adult (£62) and 1800 baht (£45) for a 5 to 12 year old, for essentially just over half a day of boat ride. There was no safety briefing, what to do in an emergency etc, you normally get these on any tour in any country. There was not an explanation of what was going on when we stopped to disembark for the beach stop. The guide did not wait for the final 2 boat loads of tourists and unfortunately about 10-15 of us started walking in the wrong direction. Fortunately one of the group (including several young children) decided to turn around after about 10 minutes otherwise the problem could have been worse. It seemed the guides did not have a good understanding of where all the members of the group were at a given time. The beach itself was very nice. It was deserted, lovely clean sand, the sea clean and warm. The shaded area was very run down and untidy. If this is a regular stop then some effort should be made to smarten it up. The boat itself was very nice, the crew very helpful and seemed competent. Everybody enjoyed the lunch, it was nice, drinks to purchase were reasonable, the fishing and snorkelling was enjoyed. In summary, duty of care needs to be taken seriously (we put ourselves in your hands), health and safety needs to be stepped up, needs a bit more visible coordination and control, positives as mentioned above, boat, crew, food, beach and snorkelling.

wir haben über Khao Lak Land Discovery den Transfer vom Flughafen Phuket zum Hotel in Khao Lak und zurück gebucht.Die Buchung per Internet und die anschließende Bezahlung per Kreditkarte ging reibungslos. Kurz nach der Buchung bekamen wir eine Bestätigung mit allen wichtigen Daten.Am Flughafen auf Phuket wurden wir dann auch mit einem Namensschild direkt am Flughafenausgang empfangen. Es dauerte dann noch ca. 20 Minuten bis unser Shuttel da war und wir losfahren konnten. Das Fahrzeug war sauber und gut in Schuss, der Fahrer war nett und hilfsbereit. Die Fahrt verlief einwandfrei.Als der Tag der Abreise kam, erhielten wir am Vorabend noch ein Fax von Khao Lak Land Discovery -über das Hotel- das wir am nächsten Morgen um 06:30 Uhr abgeholt werden. Am nächsten Morgen war dann leider kein Shuttel da um uns abzuholen. Mit viel Bemühungen und Hilfe des Hotelpersonals haben wir dann gegen 06:55 Uhr einen Mitarbeiter von Khao Lak Land Discovery erreicht und ihm unser Problem geschildert (Abflugzeit 10:00 Uhr). Um 07.15 Uhr traf dann ein Ersatzfahrer ein der uns zum Flughafen brachte. Dank der zügigen Fahrweise und des geringen Verkehrs haben wir noch rechtzeitig einchecken können, saßen aber leider getrennt voneinander.
