De gids had er duidelijk geen zin in, en dat zei hij ook. Hij voelde zich ziek, had al 3 weken geleden vrij gevraagd en moest nu, op het laatste moment, invallen. De offroad tour was kort en nog over een soort weggetje. Bij de waterval zei de gids dat het wel in de brochure stond, maar er niet gezwommen ging worden. Het water stond heel laag, maar dat maakte ons niet uit. Dat hoort bij het land... er was genoeg plek om te zwemmen. We kregen geen uitleg waarom we niet bleven of konden zwemmen. Hij wilde weg. Na 10 minuten gingen we al terug, en dat na best een stevige klim er naartoe. De tempel bleek geen tempel te zijn. De gids wilde op tijd naar huis, omdat hij zich niet goed voelde, dus in 16 uur waren we al terug ipv 18 uur. Al met al was het een heel matige excursie, voor veel geld. Ik wilde een mail naar getyourguide sturen, en dat kostte wat tijd, uiteindelijk bij het verzenden kreeg ik alleen een pagina met telefoonnummers te zien. Dit was het geld niet waard.

The ride was interesting and entertaining. Two temples were also located in a very beautiful landscape setting. The cornerstones of Buddhism have been explained to us very vividly and entertainingly by our guide Ming. In addition, fresh drinks and a good lunch were always taken care of.

What a wonderful experience this day trip was. Our guide ‘Gift’ is a practising Buddhist and therefore was. so passionate and knowledgeable about the faith and facts at each temple. We were a family of 4 and joined by 2 other couples and so it felt like a very intimate and special day, even praying together and meeting a resident monk at the final temple. Gift and the wonderful driver ‘Bird’ looked after us so well throughout the day with lots of cold drink and snacks and we had a wonderful Thai lunch at a restaurant as well. Highly recommended… thank you Gift and Bird for a special day!
