3 day/2 night lake and jungle stay

We had a fantastic stay of one night on the water bungalows and one night at the rock and treehouse resort. Our guide, Sam and our driver Toy were excellent for the entire thing! Our pickup was the only hiccup as it was supposed to be at 745am and we luckily woke up at 7 and I checked my email and they wrote to me at 6am that morning our pickup was going to be at 7! My husband ran down and told the driver we got the email last second and luckily they were kind while we quickly got ready and left. Our group was small with 4 people which was really cool they were all very nice. The lake is beautiful and pictures do not do it justice. The 2 hour long tail boat ride was cool just hurt sitting on our butts that long! We saw so many things on our safari elephant, lizards, king fishers, wild chicken & deer (hilarious to us the guides were SO excited to see deer when where we live we almost hit them constantly with our car) boars, turtle, pigs, monkeys and toucans. Not much to see on the night safari but being in the water in the deep jungle at night with a full moon was just gorgeous and such a cool experience. The water bungalows are BASIC. For one night we didn’t mind and it’s the trade off for being so deep in the jungle and being able to see all the wildlife you can. It’s a little hut size of a large closet with two small mattresses (more like cushions in width) a mosquito net and to my surprise an outlet and small outdoor light. Bring earplugs for the insects they’re quite loud but again the lodging is just fine for one night. The bathrooms are the best they can do up the hill on a somewhat rickidy makeshift dock that you need to dump the water in to flush yourself but again, you’re two hours into the deep jungle you can’t expect or demand more than that. The food was plenty and delicious and always more than what we could finish. Lots of bottle water always readily available. Definitely bring your swim suit as the lake is warm and clear and so clean and we could’ve stayed in it for hours! Kayaking is nice as well. Second day jungle river hike was cool they give you ‘socks’ to wear as you go through some water with your shoes (bring ones you don’t mind getting wet and light in color to see the leeches to pull them off) and there are leeches in the water and they stop the leeches from getting on you. One little guy still made it on me but now I have a cool story no biggie! We stayed in the rock and treehouse resort our second night and that was so beautiful! All the amenities you could ask for and the food was delicious best green curry I’ve had! The kayak ride the next day was so stunning the water cool and clear (and leech free!) and we got so close to some adorable monkeys. The elephant ride was cool but after we felt kinda bad for her and thought about her having to do that all day everyday and wouldn’t do that again but respect the respect they show their elephants. Then we fed monkeys banana and left early to travel to Koh Samui which Sam so nicely arranged everything for us to get there in an affordable way. Highly recommend Sam he was a hoot and such a nice guy to guide us as well as chat and learn about Thailand and their way of life. He’s just so softly spoken. We missed some things he said he’s gotta speak a little louder😄! Would recommend spending time in this beautiful park if you’re in Thailand it would be an absolute shame to not! Sorry about the lengthy review but I wish there had been one for us before going to better know what was ahead!Bring: bug repellent (not as buggy as we thought but they’re out there), waterproof shoes, sunscreen, bathing suit, flip flops for boat adventures, waterproof bag for phone while in boat to take pictures (amazon has great cheap ones) and a great attitude!

007 island
