Khuk Khak, Khao Lak

Khuk Khak is the central village of the Khao Lak area and the beating heart of the resort strip. Situated along Highway 4 (Route Phetkasem), it is where the main restaurants, tour operators, shops, convenience stores, and guesthouses concentrate — making it the most practical base within Khao Lak for travellers who want to explore the region independently. What’s Around Khuk Khak

The beach at Khuk Khak faces west, with calm, swimmable water November–April and surf suitable for beginner stand-up paddleboarding. The popular Bang Niang night market is 3 km north; the International Tsunami Museum commemorating the 2004 disaster is 2 km south at La-Un. Nang Thong Beach — the location of most of Khao Lak’s resort hotels — stretches south from Khuk Khak, while Bang Niang beach continues north.
