Join us for an unforgettable day at the beautiful Similan Islands, where white sandy beaches and wonderful, lush rainforests await you. Enjoy snorkeling in the clear waters and keep yours eyes open, will you encounter a turtle?
We will pick you up at about 6.30am from your hotel in Khao Lak. To avoid any hectic rush at the port of Thap Lamu, we start from our own private pier. Here we will serve a light breakfast give a short safety briefing and tips on how to behave whilst offshore and when visiting a Thai National Park.
Our speed boat will whisk you to the islands in approximately 90 minutes. (Just in case, we provide pills to prevent sea sickness (Dimenhydrinate 50mg). First we will cruise to Donald Duck Bay, you first taste of the unique Similan Islands scenery. You will have time to relax at one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand or get yourself familiar with your snorkelling equipment in the clear and turquoise waters.
Feel free to join our guide on the adventurous trek to the magnificent view point to see the true beauty of the area from up high. Picturesque bays and blossoming, tropical fauna will make you forget about time.
We will continue with our first snorkelling stop. With water temperatures around 30˚C and underwater visibility around 20m it makes the sea simply inviting. Our tour guides and boat staff have an extremely good knowledge about the nine islands and will choose the best snorkelling place of the day, with as few other tourists as possible.
Now it’s time to regain your power with a tasty Thai lunch at one of the beautiful sandy beaches, listening to the sound of the waves. Moreover there will be some free time to explore the island or simply relax before we rejoin the speed boat to enjoy another snorkel stop.
Who knows what is waiting for you? Maybe you can find Nemo, a sea snake or a friendly turtle? In the afternoon we will head back to land. For safety reasons this is usually no later 3:30pm.
Finally, when we arrive at the pier our friendly minibus drivers will be ready and waiting to take you to your hotel, hopefully happy and also a bit tired after such an eventful day at the sea.
Since Oktober 2019 you can not stay overnight on the islands.
The islands are 70 km west from Khao Lak. It takes 1h 30 min with the speeboat to reach the islands.
They are 84 km northwest from Phuket Island.
Best location for visiting Similan Island National Park is from Khao Lak. It is the shortest distance and take around 1h 30min by speedboat. It is also possible from Phuket Island but more far. Speedboat from Phuket Sarasin bridge to Similan takes about 2h 15 min.
From Krabi the driving distance to Khao Lak would be already 2h 30 min plus 1h 30 with the speedboat.
This was a plesant tour. Beautiful views, friendly guides, crews and busdriver. Meal and beverages was very good! Excellent! Greetings

We thoroughly enjoyed the day trip. The staff were excellent and took good care of us, particularly Doh who was great fun. The lunch was great and all in all, a fabulous day thank you. Sorry to see a picture of a young elephant on your website. We do not support animal tourism and this would have deterred us from booking with you if we had seen it in the first place.
Karen - January 2017
The Similan excursion is pretty much as stated on the website with very helpful staff and comfortable boat. The beaches are lovely but do get busy later in day so early start is recommended. Food was good but beach rammed and no seating so don't expect too much! Snorkeling we saw lots of pretty fish and although they tried we didn't find turtles. The boat trip is long but well worth the visit.

The Similan islands are located approximately 70 km offshore and belong to the Similan Island Marine National Park covering an area of 140km².
Only two of the nine islands are open for tourism: Island Four and Island Eight. Both have limited infrastructure, a park office, toilets and shower facilities and a restaurant. The Similans offer perfect conditions for a great holiday trip with their famous white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and a landscape reminiscent of the Seychelles.
There are several endemic species living on the islands such as the Nicobar pigeon, lizards, bats and chicken crabs. The Similan islands lie in tropical waters and offer an amazing underwater world with rich coral life and many species of colourful fish like parrot fish and anemone clown fish. There is also the chance to spot turtles and dolphins.
