Phuket’s west coast offers a succession of beaches with distinct personalities, each suited to a different travel style. Patong Beach is the island’s most developed strip — high-energy, loud, and packed with restaurants, clubs and water-sports operators. Karon Beach is broader and more family-friendly, with calmer surf and less commercial pressure. Kata Beach (Kata Yai) is popular with surfers May–October and families during the high season; the smaller Kata Noi offers a more secluded atmosphere. Surin and Bang Tao beaches in north Phuket anchor a cluster of five-star resorts and retain long stretches of empty sand even at peak season.

Transfer from Khao Lak to Phuket Beaches

The Phuket beach strip (Patong / Kata / Karon) lies 80–90 km south of Khao Lak along Route 4 — approximately 90 minutes by private car.
