Bang Tao Beach, North Phuket

Bang Tao Beach is a 6 km stretch of north Phuket coast anchored by the Laguna Phuket resort complex — a cluster of five interconnected luxury hotels sharing a 1,000-acre lagoon estate. Beyond Laguna, the beach is lined with a growing number of boutique hotels, beach clubs, and long-tail fishing boats that coexist in a way more typical of Phuket a decade ago. Bang Tao draws a quieter, higher-budget traveller than Patong, and the beach itself is wide, flat, and rarely crowded.

Transfer from Khao Lak to Bang Tao

Bang Tao Beach is approximately 80 km south of Khao Lak via Highway 4 — about 80–90 minutes by private car. Khao Lak Land Discovery offers transfers to Bang Tao / Laguna Phuket from ฿3,000 one-way. From Phuket International Airport, Bang Tao is only 15 km north — a 20–25-minute airport-to-resort transfer.

Around Bang Tao

Surin Beach (2 km south) is known for its beach-club scene and has attracted several international operators. Kamala Beach lies a further 5 km south and is calmer and more family-friendly. A short drive north reaches the Sarasin Bridge and the Phang Nga mainland — the jumping-off point for the northern transfer route back to Khao Lak. Bang Tao also connects easily to Phuket Old Town (20 km) and the Sunday Walking Street market in the historic quarter.
