Khao Lak to Ranong Transfer
A private transfer from Khao Lak to Ranong — the border town and pier for Koh Phayam and Koh Chang (Ranong), and the Kawthaung visa-run crossing into Myanmar. One fixed price for the whole vehicle up the Andaman coast.
About the Khao Lak → Ranong drive
Ranong is the northern end of our Andaman run — a long coastal drive to the Myanmar border. Travellers take this for a visa run or to catch the boat to Koh Phayam; we keep the car price fixed and time the pickup to your crossing or sailing.
The corridor is roughly 187 km and takes about 180 minutes door to door in normal conditions. The fare shown — ฿5,300 — is the price for the whole private vehicle, not per person, and is fixed at booking.
What's included
- Private air-conditioned vehicle — the whole car is yours
- Professional English-speaking local driver
- Door-to-door pickup at your hotel or address
- Flight tracking for airport pickups — no charge for delays
- Fixed price at booking — no meter, no surprises

A private Khao Lak to Ranong transfer covers approximately 130 km and takes 2 hours to 2 hours 15 minutes. Ranong is the northernmost province of Phuket’s Andaman coast — a transit point for the Myanmar border crossing at Victoria Point (Kawthaung), the Surin Islands ferry service, and the under-visited Laem Son National Park.
Most visitors travelling to Ranong are either making the short trip to Myanmar for a visa run, catching the speedboat to Koh Phayam (a quiet island 7 km offshore), or continuing to the Surin National Marine Park via Ranong pier.

Ranong for the Myanmar border run
The Ranong border crossing at Saphan Pla Pier runs short speedboat trips across the river mouth to Kawthaung (Victoria Point), Myanmar. The crossing itself takes 10–15 minutes each way. It is a valid border run for Thai tourist visa extensions. Bring your passport; the departure tax at Kawthaung is approximately 500 THB per person payable in cash.
Koh Phayam island ferry
Koh Phayam is a low-key island accessible from Ranong town pier. Ferries run twice daily (approximately 09:30 and 14:00, journey 2–3 hours; or speedboat 1 hour). The island has a small collection of bungalows and beaches; it is far less developed than Koh Samui or Koh Lanta and suits travellers who want to avoid the crowds.
What is included
One fixed price covers the private air-conditioned minivan and driver from your Khao Lak hotel to Ranong — up to 9 passengers. Border fees, ferry tickets, and onward travel are separate. Night surcharge (฿300) for journeys midnight to 6 am.
