Phuket Tour DIY

You hire an air-conditioned minibus with an experienced driver for 8 hours from your Khao Lak hotel. The driver collects you at your agreed start time, takes you to the locations you choose in Phuket and the surrounding area, and returns you at the end of the day. The price (฿4,500 per vehicle) covers the vehicle and driver for the full 8 hours. Entrance fees, guided tours, meals, and activities at each stop are at your own expense.

The drive from central Khao Lak to Phuket Old Town takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes each way. With 8 hours total, you have around 5.5 hours on the ground. Realistically, you can fit 3–4 stops comfortably — for example, Phuket Old Town (Sino-Portuguese architecture, cafés, and market streets), Big Buddha (30 minutes), Kata or Patong Beach, and a local market or shopping centre. Your driver knows the island well and can suggest the most efficient routing.

The 8-hour window covers Phuket and the immediate Phang Nga coastal area. James Bond Island by longtail boat (departing from Ao Phang Nga) is achievable if you leave Khao Lak by 7 am. Phi Phi Island requires a ferry and is not feasible in the same day from Khao Lak by minivan. For island combinations, we recommend a dedicated island tour and use this service for land-based Phuket exploration.

The minivan seats 9–12 passengers. This service is priced per vehicle, not per person — it is excellent value for families or groups of 4 or more. Solo travellers and couples are equally welcome at the same listed price.

Full refunds are available for cancellations made 48 hours or more in advance. Within 48 hours, the booking is non-refundable. If weather or road conditions make travel to Phuket unsafe on the day, we will rearrange or issue a full credit.
