The Phi Phi Islands — Maya Bay, towering limestone cliffs and some of the most photographed water in Thailand — sit south of Khao Lak in Krabi province. They’re further than the Similans or Phang Nga Bay, but very much doable as a day trip. Here’s how to get to Phi Phi from Khao Lak.

Phi Phi is a longer day — plan for it

Phi Phi lies between Phuket and Krabi, so from Khao Lak you have a road transfer south followed by a speedboat across open water. It’s an early start and a full day — but the payoff is Maya Bay, Pileh Lagoon, Viking Cave and the best snorkeling stops in the southern Andaman. Doing it yourself means a transfer to a Phuket or Krabi pier, then finding a boat; a guided trip removes all of that.

The simplest way from Khao Lak

Our Phi Phi Islands day trip from Khao Lak handles the whole chain — hotel pickup, the transfer to the pier, the speedboat, park fees, lunch and a guide — so you travel down, spend the day on the water, and come back without organising a single connection yourself.

Prefer something closer?

If a long travel day isn’t for you, the Similan Islands (closer, clearer water) and James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay (just up the coast) are both shorter days out of Khao Lak with their own kind of scenery.
