Bang Muang · Phang Nga
KLLD · Andaman CoastBang Sak Beach is a quiet, palm-shaded stretch of coast 15 km north of central Khao Lak in Phang Nga Province. Compared to the busier Khao Lak resort strips to the south, Bang Sak feels noticeably more remote — a long, gently curving bay backed by casuarina trees and rubber-plantation hills, with only a handful of hotels spread along its length. The sea here is calm November–April and ideal for swimming.
Bang Sak is home to several well-regarded properties, including Grand Mercure Khao Lak Bangsak Resort (the zone’s largest hotel, with a full-service spa and multiple pools) and smaller boutique options such as Apsara by the Sea and a cluster of family-run guesthouses. The beach is rarely crowded even at peak season, giving it an atmosphere closer to a private retreat than a resort hub.
Bang Sak Beach is approximately 100 km from Phuket International Airport via Highway 4 — a 90–100-minute drive. Khao Lak Land Discovery offers private transfers to the Bang Sak area from ฿2,000 one-way, with drop-off at your specific resort gate. Round-trip airport transfers with 3% discount are available.
Despite its seclusion, Bang Sak is within easy reach of the Andaman’s best day trips. Similan Islands snorkelling cruises and Phang Nga Bay kayak tours board from piers 15–30 km south, and Khao Lak Land Discovery can arrange collection directly from your Bang Sak resort. The Similan Islands snorkelling day trip is the most popular excursion from this part of the coast.
