The route

How the day unfolds.

Exact timings flex with conditions and traffic — your guide sequences the stops to keep them calm rather than rushed. This is how the day usually runs.

01 Stop

Pick-up from your Hotel in the Khao Lak Area

Your friendly driver will pick you up in an air-conditioned minibus in front of your hotel lobby around 4:15 am to take you to our departure lounge at the Royal Phuket Marina.  Yes, this is very early, but it is the best way to avoid the crowds. The transfer time to the marina is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Your exact pick-up time and travel time to the pier depend on the location of your hotel. We will confirm the pick-up time with you when you book.

02 Stop

Sightseeing by Speedboat - Thap, Mo, and Kai (Chicken) Islands

Chicken Island Krabi Highlight Tour

Get your camera ready! As the speedboat nears Thale Waek, the astonishing shape of Koh Kai (Chicken Island) comes into view. Koh Kai was aptly named for its unique karst rock formation that bears an uncanny resemblance to a chicken. This is a photo opportunity you won't want to miss!

03 Stop

Morning Coffee and Refreshments at Thale Waek

Morning Coffee at Thala Weak - Tub Island

Waking up before dawn to embark on a full-day speedboat trip may have left you a little sleepy or peckish, so we will stop on the idyllic beach at Thale Waek for coffee, tea, snacks, and other refreshments. At the lowest tides, Thale Waek is a sandbar that joins together Thap, Mo, and Kai Islands. Take some time to take in the view while enjoying a hot coffee, have a morning swim in the refreshing waters, or don your snorkel equipment and discover what lies beneath the surface!

04 Stop

Poda Island

Poda island - Krabi beach

Just a few minutes cruise from Thale Waek, Poda Island comes into view. We'll stop at the well manicured park area on Poda Island so you can snorkel in search of colorful marine life, or if you wish, just chill out on the beach.

05 Stop

Free Time on Iconic Koh Hong

Iconic Hong island - Krabi day tour

We will bring you to what is considered by many to be the most beautiful island in Phang Nga Bay! After your arrival at Krabi's Koh Hong, not to be confused with Phang Nga's Koh Hong, you will have free time to relax on the beach, hike up to the panoramic viewpoint with breathtaking views of the surrounding islands, take a swim, or go snorkeling to explore the tropical waters!

While relaxing on the beach or taking a swim may seem like the ideal activities to partake in on Koh Hong, we urge you to put in the effort to hike up to the viewpoint with your guide. We're sure the view will not disappoint! If there is any viewpoint in the region worth your sweat and effort to visit, this is it!

Please note. The speedboat will be moored at a different location while you are on the island, so if you wish to snorkel or take pictures, please be sure to bring snorkeling equipment and your camera from the boat with you when you disembark at Koh Hong.

06 Stop

Koh Hong - An Idyllic Setting for Lunch on the Beach!

Koh Hong - An Idyllic Setting for Lunch on the Beach!

After returning from the viewpoint, we serve you up a scrumptious Thai picnic buffet on the beach at Koh Hong with a picturesque view of the bay as a backdrop!

07 Stop

Swim in the Extraordinarily Beautiful Lagoon at Koh Hong

Krabi 4 island tour from Khao Lak — Koh Hong, Poda and Chicken Island

After lunch, hop back on the boat and we will take you to a hidden lagoon at Koh Hong, surrounded by shear limestone cliffs, where the serene emerald waters beckon you to climb in for a revitalizing swim.

We strongly suggest that you do not dive or jump into the water. The depth depends on the tide, but it is rarely deep enough to safely dive in.

08 Stop

Explore Lao Lading Above and Below the Surface

Explore Lao Lading Above and Below the Surface

After disembarking on the island of Lao Lading, a short walk from the floating pier brings you to a picture-perfect postcard setting to relax on the beach or cool yourself in the tranquil waters of the bay. It took millions of years for Mother Earth to shape the karst landscape of Phang Nga Bay into the work of art it is today, so don't forget your camera when leave the boat!

09 Stop

Return to the Royal Phuket Marina

After a memorable day sightseeing and island hopping, your captain begins the scenic journey, through the islands, back to the Royal Phuket Marina. The estimated arrival time at the pier is between 3:15 and 3:30 pm.

10 Stop

Disembark at the Royal Phuket Marina

When you disembark at the Royal Phuket Marina, please be sure you have all of your personal belongings. You will have a few minutes to use the washrooms before your driver returns you to your hotel in the Khao Lak area.

What's included in the Krabi 4 Island tour? +

The tour includes early hotel pickup in Khao Lak (around 4:15am), a private transfer to Royal Phuket Marina, and a full day by speedboat at four stunning spots: Thale Waek sandbar (morning coffee and snacks included), Poda Island (snorkelling), Koh Hong (viewpoint hike + hidden lagoon + Thai picnic lunch on the beach) and Lao Lading Island (beach and snorkelling). Snorkelling gear (mask, snorkel, fins, life jacket) and return transfers are included in the price.

Why is pickup so early at 4:15am? +

The early start lets the speedboat reach the best spots - especially the Thale Waek sandbar - well ahead of the big tour groups. You get quieter beaches, better photos and a far more relaxed atmosphere. It's an early alarm, but guests consistently say the experience is worth it.

Where does the speedboat depart from? +

The speedboat leaves from Royal Phuket Marina, about 1 hour 15 minutes south of Khao Lak. Our driver gets you there before sunrise and collects you when the boat returns to the marina in the afternoon (around 3:15-3:30pm).

Is snorkelling gear included and what are conditions like? +

Yes - masks, snorkels, fins and life jackets in adult and child sizes are all included. Snorkelling conditions around the Krabi islands are excellent: clear water, colourful reef fish and vibrant coral. Poda Island is especially good for beginners. Koh Hong's lagoon is a swim-only zone - please don't dive or jump, as depth varies with the tide.

How long is the whole day and is the tour family-friendly? +

It's a long full-day trip - roughly 13-14 hours door to door because of the early Khao Lak pickup and the transfer to the marina. The speedboat is limited to a small group size, which keeps the pace relaxed. Families with children who travel well by boat enjoy it; the variety of activities keeps everyone engaged.

What is the cancellation policy? +

This tour has a 3-day cancellation window. Cancellations more than 72 hours before departure receive a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours of departure are non-refundable. If severe weather prevents the tour, we offer an alternative date or a credit.

Which islands does the Krabi 4 Island tour visit? +

The tour visits five spots in total, each with its own character. Koh Hong is the centrepiece - a protected national-park island with a hidden lagoon, viewpoint hike and one of the most photographed beach-lagoon combinations in the Andaman. Poda Island offers wide white-sand beaches and shallow, crystal-clear water - ideal for snorkelling. Lao Lading is a quieter island with rock formations and excellent coral. Thale Waek (the "separated sea") is a tidal sandbar that appears at low tide, letting you walk between two islets - the iconic image many people plan their Krabi trip around. Chicken Island (named for its rooster-shaped outcrop) is included as a scenic pass-by. Exact stops can vary slightly with season and tide.

How far is Krabi from Khao Lak and how long is the journey? +

Krabi is about 130 km south of Khao Lak - around a 2-hour drive south on Highway 4 through Phang Nga province, with views of the limestone karst hills. Because the speedboat departs from Royal Phuket Marina (itself 1 hour 15 minutes south of Khao Lak), your driver collects you at about 4:15am from your Khao Lak hotel. The early transfer is the heart of the "early bird" concept: you beat the traffic, reach the pier before the day-trippers from Krabi town, and are already on the water while most others are still at breakfast.

When is the best time of year for the Krabi 4 Island tour from Khao Lak? +

The Krabi islands are at their best from November to April - the dry season on the Andaman coast, when seas are calm, snorkelling visibility is 10-15 metres and the tidal sandbar at Thale Waek appears reliably. The tour runs year-round when conditions allow, but the peak months of December to March offer the clearest water and most stable weather. In the shoulder months of October and May the tour operates most days; our team watches conditions daily and offers an alternative date or full refund if seas are uncertain.

Nice but disappointed..

The excursion was nice, but overall very disappointing! The stop at the cave was completely pointless. All you see are simple stalactites and a few bats that you're not allowed to shine a light on so as not to disturb them. The trek is too short to really appreciate and see any wildlife! And finally, a huge disappointment because there isn't even a quick photo stop to see the famous "Three Brother Rocks" that make this lake so renowned! Sorry but I definitely do not recommend this activity!
