Khao Lak Beaches

Any guide book on Khao Lak will tell you that this area, a region which has about 40km of sandy beaches, is one of the most beautiful and attractive tourist destinations in Thailand.

Khao Lak and the surrounding area is still growing as a tourist destination with varios trips from Khao Lak. Tourism here is still in its infancy; however, Khao Lak continues to retain its original rustic charm. Typical Thai family restaurants line the main street and it’s still possible to stroll through Khao Lak (La Own) in only 20 minutes and you will have seen everything. Originally people earned their income here from fishing, palm oil and rubber tree plantations, and before that the area was wealthy due to the tin mining industry, an important part of this area’s history.

Khao Lak is divided into beaches; each beach has it‚ own unique qualities and charms, with or without development.
