High Recommend - very easy

We did 2 tours with Khao Lak Land Discovery and would definately recommend them. Easy to deal with 1st tour was booked within 10 minutes in the office in Khao Lak city and the 2nd with the link on the internet site which was extremely easy and received a confirmation email with 10 mins. We went on the full day Phuket tour which was good and the send trip was the Elephant Trek and visit to a waterfall then lunch at a little restaurant next to the waterfall which was fantastic. Chocke was our guide that day and he is a local and very informative and friendly. Would highly recommend this organisation.

Easy peasy

Very easy to deal with. Went in the office and booked the Similan snorkelling trip for two within 10 mins and agreed on a small discount too! Unfortunately the next day weather was not permitting so trip had to be cancelled and we were given the choice of full refund or organise another trip or day. We took the refund as we had other plans for the next few days already. Will definitely book with them again in the future for snorkelling trips.

Nothing but positives to report!

During a week long stay in Khao Lak I did 2 tours with Khao LakLand Discoveries: the snorkelling day trip to the Surin Islands and the Elephant Bath half day tour.SURIN ISLANDS: The trip to the Surin islands was fantastic. I was lucky enough to fit into the last one for the season so there were about 30 of us in total but we were the only boat there so it wasn't crowded. I was picked up promptly from the hotel and driven to the pier. I had my own mask and snorkel but was provided with a set of fins which were of excellent quality. I was also given a towel and a bag to store everything in. We boarded the boat which turned out to have a broken engine so had to return to the pier and change boats (a delay of approximately 40mins but we were given refreshments whilst we waited). We then boarded again and headed to the islands. We did 3 snorkels and were given a briefing before each. I noted (pleasingly) that the boats used line ropes rather than anchors and there was an emphasis on keeping the environment pristine. After the first snorkel we had a wonderful lunch at a beautiful beach. After the final 2 snorkels, we returned to shore at 5pm before returning to the hotel. The staff were great and made sure we remained hydrated throughout the day and answered questions anyone had. I would highly recommend this tour.ELEPHANT BATH: A highlight of my trip, we were collected from the hotel and taken to the elephant camp. We met the mahout and his elephant then got up into the seat and were taken for a 50min ride through the camp. The mahout was very caring to his elephant, often letting her stop to munch on grass and even pick the odd coconut. He never hit her even when we was naughty and didn't want to walk anymore. Our mahout also got down at one stage and took photos for us as well which was nice. Upon returning to the camp we dismounted and gave the elephant a hand of bananas (purchased for 50 baht) and then stopped for a snack of watermelon and pineapple. We then headed to the lake to give the elephant a bath which was just that. We were waist deep in our swimmers with scrubbing brushes and the elephant splashed herself (and us) with water. It was wonderful. The bath lasted about 20mins and then we headed off to a lovely waterfall and restaurant for lunch. It was a local restaurant (I like supporting local business) that had excellent food, including massaman curry. We were returned to the hotel at 12:30pm which leaves time for afternoon activities. I would recommend this tour highly. The staff were nice and informed us about Thailand during the drives (including details about the tsunami) and answered all questions. The elephants are well cared for and appear happy. the tour was 1,850 baht (approx AUD$62) and is definitely money well spent!!

Unique lovely experience

This was a really nice half day trip. We went on a short trek on a beautiful big elephant. We then got to swim with and bathe the elephant after the trek which they apparently really like. That was one of the coolest things ive done. We fed her a basket of bananas which was also great fun. We then went to a nearby waterfall and had a lovely lunch which was a really nice end to the tour. Highly recommend this experience.
