Booked the trip directly through KLLD office at Khao Lak and were given a discount. A couple of days later a mini bus turned up at 8am Dirk jumped out and introduced himself, gave a brief overview and into the bus where four others were seated none of which spoke English, by the time we arrived at the stop-point at Khao Sok Dirk had to explain everything twice in English and German, he did a fine job explaining & answering all questions, besides speaking many languages (at least 4) his wealth of knowledge about Thailand eco and culture, elephants was outstanding. The stop point was the Rock & Treehouse where units were beautifully located amongst the trees this is where we also ate lunch (very nice Thai lunch) Our group headed off canoeing first (another group was also at the stop-point, looks like whilst one group is canoeing the other group is elephant trekking then swaps over after lunch) the canoe start point was only 5-10 minutes down the road, were given life-jackets seated in a canoe with a paddler and off we went, the scenery was great, saw a number of wildlife, locals fishing on the banks of the river, besides a brief shower (ponchos were provided before taking off) overall it was very relaxing (especially when someone else is paddling), after lunch it was our turn for elephant trekking, after crossing a river in the back of a ute we met up with the elephants and their trainers (Mahouts) once on the elephant, no time was wasted, we're off trekking other elephants in-tow, about 40 minutes later we reached a water fall, time for a photo shoot, then turn around the elephants, remount and headed back, on the return trip I was asked if I wanted to ride the elephant sitting on its neck, well I gave it ago and rode it all the way back...this added to the enjoyment and the experience well worth it, back at camp we fed our elephant bananas and then left. On the return trip we called into a temple fed monkeys and further down the road we stopped at a local market and returned to out hotel around 4:00pm.All and all we had a great day, thanks to a pleasant canoe ride, great lunch, a very friendly elephant and its mahout and a BIG thanks to Dirk our guide...

Im Febrauar besuchten wir Thailand und wollten natürlich nicht nur faul am Strand liegen, sondern auch was erleben. Die Entscheidung für Land Discovery war die Richtige. Ganze drei Ausflüge buchten wir. Eine durch den National Park mit Elefantenreiten und Paddelboot Tour Eine zum James Bond Felsen mit Boot und eine Shopping Tour in Phuket. Alle drei Touren waren wirklich sehr gut organisiert. Kleine Gruppen, deutsche Reiseguides. Bei den Guides bemerkten wir einen großen Unterschied und möchten daher Nadine hier ein großes Dankeschön aussprechen. Nadine lernten wir als Tourguide bei der ersten Tour kennen. Man merkt ihr an, wie gerne Sie das macht. Um so glücklicher waren wir, als wir Sie auch wieder bei unserer Stadttour hatten. Sie zeigt großes Engagement, erzählt viel über Land und Leute und ist wirklich für jede Frage offen gewesen :) Der Ausflug zum Felsen mit einem anderen Guide war auch lohnenswert, doch der junge Mann war nicht ganz so nah am Geschehen und den Touristen dran wie Nadine.Sollten wir wieder kommen, würden wir 100% wieder bei Land Discovery unsere Ausflüge buchen. I liked River Rafting,Elephant Ride,Turtle Farm,Fountain. Didn't like Fruit Market,nothing only you go ordinary fruit shops near highways.

Nous sommes rentrés cette nuit de Khao Lak et je me précipite sur mon ordinateur pour vous donner quelques informations sur vos futures excursions. Nous sommes partis avec Voyage privé à l'hôtel Le Méridien : Tout était parfait. Le lendemain de notre arrivée, Hugues est venu à l’hôtel pour nous proposer différentes excursions avec beaucoup de professionnalisme et d'humour... Nous en avons fait 3 (200€ par personnes, ce qui est très correct) et nous avons passé 3 journées extraordinaires avec une organisation parfaite et un guide au top.. - Safari à Khao Sok: marché typique avec dégustation locale et surprenante! Merci Hugues pour ces découvertes... Puis balade à dos d'éléphant et canoë en rivière. Très belle journée. - Phang Nga Bay avec la fameuse île de James Bond, canoë en mer et visite d'un temple...Encore une belle journée. - Phi Phi island: incontournable pour se plages et le snorkeling. Et encore une belle journée, même si la météo n'était pas favorable. Ces excursions sont très complètes. Hugues vient nous chercher à l'hôtel avec le sourire (même à 4h du matin!), le repas est compris, les boissons sont proposées toute la journée, et les explications sont claires. Merci beaucoup Hugues pour ce partage d'émotions et pour cette découverte de la Thaïlande. Pleins de bonnes choses pour toi et bonne route!

Nous passons actuellement un séjour à Khao lak à l'hôtel Asparas en Pool Villa. Quelle ne fut pas notre surprise de rencontrer un guide touristique belge de notre village (Sarolay, Visé, Belgique).Je vous le recommande chaleureusement tant pour sa gentillesse que pour sa compétence. Nous avons fait 2 excursions avec lui : Phi Phi island et Khao sok (trekking en éléphant et descente de rivière en canoë). Ses explications étaient claires et fournies tant sur la Thaïlande en général que sur les sites. Merci à lui et bon vent pour sa vie au Royaume de Siam.
