If you are looking for a day excursion from Khao Lak, and want to experience the colour and fun of snorkeling on coral reefs, then I highly recommend this trip offered by Khao Lak Land Discovery. Their bus picked us up from the JW Marriott in Khao Lak at 7.30am and we were at the dock at Baan Nam Kem by 8.15. After a briefing and making payment (please note cash and credit cards are accepted - debit cards not accepted), at 8.50 we boarded the high speed boat for the voyage to our first dive spot at the Surin Islands. This took just over one hour, but can take longer if weather conditions are not as favourable. This is to be honest, a boring trip, with not much to see and the noise of the three outboard motors making conversation or even music listening very difficult. However as you plunge into the crystal clear waters and catch your first glimpse of the colourful reef fish, all is forgiven (if not forgotten). The water clarity and temperature were great, but the actual coral was mainly brown and dead, with only the occasional more colourful species to be seen. But the fish were stunningly beautiful and plentiful and 45 minutes here passed quickly. The Village that is home to the Mokan people was our next destination. It was interesting and very picturesque, but I felt a little sorry for the people, who seemed to have little to do but offer hand made trinkets for sale to the tourists. A short trip to another island and we were at our lunch destination in a national park. The buffet lunch was good and we were given an hour to swim and look around this beautiful place. Other tour groups arrived too. We were called back onto our boat at 13.50, and by 14.10 we were back in the water for another snorkelling session. This reef had less fish but better and more colourful, healthy coral. Back onto the boat by 15.00 before we set course for our home port which we reached around 16.00. The day was well organized and very enjoyable. The tour guides spoke English, French and German and addressed us as three separate groups. Thanks to Tania, our Thai, English -speaking guide.

Wir haben unseren Flughafentransfer 4 Wochen vor Abreise online bei LDKL gebucht und per Paypal bezahlt. Es hat alles wunderbar geklappt, als wir am Flughafen Phuket angekommen sind wurden wir schon mit einem Namensschild erwartet und keine 5 Minuten später saßen wir schon in unserem Shuttle (W-Lan und Getränke inklusive!), auch die Abholung von unserem Hotel klappte super und pünktlich und auch an Getränke und Tücher wurde wieder gedacht :-). Wir unternahmen auch einen Ausflug nach Phuket mit LDKL, auch der war sehr gut organisiert und informativ, Danke an dieser Stelle an Jenny unsere Reiseleiterin.

Wir haben 3 wirkliche tolle Tageausflüge mit Khao Lak Land Discovery gemacht! Der erste Ausflug war eine Off-Road Tour durch den Dschungel. Der zweite Tagesausflug ging zu den Hong Inseln. Und der letzte Ausflug war zu den Surin Inseln. Wir hatten viel Spaß, super Guides und wundervolle Erinnerungen. Vielen Dank dafür! Wir würden jederzeit wieder Ausflüge mit euch buchen!
