I did the trip via tui. What amazing trip , our Guide was fantastic and couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy . Our accommodations was a bamboo hut on the lake which wasn’t what we expected but which added to the experience . The driver of the longboat was amazing knowing all the nooks and crannies of the lake navigated perfectly even in the dark with only head torch . We saw lots of monkeys , otters deer , a few iguanas, one of which ran up the beach as we approached which was just like watching a David Attenborough documentary. We thought the big animals had avoided us but on way back on day 2 we spotted an elephant. Wow! What a treat and he wasn’t bothered by us watching him take a mud bath so we sat and watched quietly taking lots of pictures. I cannot express how magical this trip was and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to see the real Thailand and its habitants. U will definitely need long trousers or long socks and shorts and a really good mosquito and leach spray for your trek in the jungle
