Khao Lak Safari - making memories

A great day starting with a pick up at the hotel. Our guide Gift, checked we had everything to make the day as special as possible. We were joined by 2 other families - making our group a total 8. It was very comfortable in the minivan and our driver was lovely. First stop was a temple, our guide was very informative. Our 2 boys were desperate to see the elephants. Our boys were very patient at the temple. Then we went to see the turtles, again our guide was very informative about the conservation of turtles and was happy to answer questions. After a short drive we got to the bamboo station where we boarded our bamboo raft. The boys thought this was brilliant as did we. The experience was magical and we saw several different species of butterflies, frogs and a snake. All making it perfect. The rafts go over a few tiny rapids - which get your bum wet! Lots of giggles followed! A trip highlight. Once back on the bank, our boys were surprised with birthday cake - making it a birthday to remember. A quick stop at the waterfall. A chance for a quick dip. Next stop was lunch - this was a selection of dishes. All well prepared. The crispy chicken being a favourite. Lots of water and soft drinks were provided throughout the trip. Then a 40 minute drive to the elephant welfare centre - giving everyone time for a post lunch nap. Perfectly timed. We arrived at the elephant centre - beautiful setting. Three beautiful calm and happy elephants arrived to several wows and ahhh. They were adorable and enjoyed many bananas. This was a highlight. Our guide gift continued to provide us with information about the elephants. After the elephants devoured all the bananas they went for a dip in the river and a chance for us to scrub them. A great relaxing and calm experience especially as we were the only people there. Heavy rain fell cutting this experience a little short as we took cover. Gift provided us with rain coats, drinks and sliced pineapple. The heavy rain continued as we left the elephants and we drove to the tsunami memorial and police boat this was a moving experience. This was a great day out enjoyed by the whole family. The calm, smooth running of the trip made it a brilliant way to spend our twins birthday. Thank you.

A very nice day

We spent the day with Kim our Francophone guide, kim explained a lot about Thai culture and Buddhism, it is really exciting and very interesting, the temples are very impressive and have all their peculiarities. The driver Mr Singhanat Chumsri was very careful with us throughout the day. If you want to know more about Thailand and Buddhism this is a very nice excursion. I really recommend this agency that takes care of you from start to finish and in very small group. Ask the French guide when booking, kim was really t on top!

Morgann
