We had a wonderful Surin islands trip! The best snorkeling of our Thailand time.I'm not sure how the different tour companies collaborate (or if it's different because of COVID and each place isn't running separate trips right now), but we booked through Khao Lak Land Discovery although a different company was actually the one running the trip.Khao Lak Land Discovery was very prompt in responsiveness and answering our questions. We booked a week or so before we got to Thailand.This trip included great snorkeling, some hiking, lunch, etc. and all of that was great. This trip actually had a lot of Thai people as opposed to our other trips that were clearly all tourists so it was cool to go where the locals go.What I didn't love was the speedboat trip to the islands, and this goes for all of the island trips we took - just consider this part to be transit to the islands, not a "boat ride" because they cram everyone inside a speed boat that doesn't have windows at eye level, so you can't see anything and you may as well be on a bus for 90 minutes each way.

You will be taken good care of with inspiring an inspiring tour guide. With only a group of 6 (usually it is the double), it felt very intimate and personal - a true honest guide through three different temples. A lot of driving but you will be walking a lot and also see some really true Thai religious culture. I would say this tour is slightly strenous and make sure to bring good shoes. If you are afraid of insects such as cave grasshoppers or bats - this tour is not for you. They will be present around you at certain times, but they wont harm you. Food experience was good with nice views and very adaptable to your needs or service. Drinks, desinfectant, small cold towels was provided at all times. We were informed that this tour is usually crowded, but it felt very calm and easy-going which we know is due to the lesser amount of tourist during the covid-19 pandemic. Thank you Gift for an amazing and passionate tour of three differnet temples in the Phang Nga province.

Due to a misunderstanding when booking, our 2-day wildlife tour became a private tour. Nothing better could have happened to us. So we were able to leave out everything we didn’t want and concentrate on wildlife observations from the longtail boat for a total of 11 hours. Rolo, who after a skeptical look at my photographic equipment, provided me with his 300mm lens (which is not a given in any case) has an extraordinary view for the animals of the national park. It's very moving when it suddenly crashes into the bushes and a wild elephant makes its way to the water. We experienced this several times. We could also observe crooks, white-tailed eagles, lingurs and samba deer. Even a fish owl we were able to discover (very briefly). Due to the misunderstanding mentioned above, we did not stay at the normal camp by the lake, but even further in the national park in floating bamboo houses. All in all, these were 2 unforgettable days for us. Rolo took a lot of time for us, explained a lot about Khao Sok Park and the animals that are native to it and also the rangers who do their duty there. On our next Thailand holiday we will definitely be back with Rolo in Khao Sok National Park.

Khao Sok 3-Tage-Tour (Baumhaus & Stausee)Wir hatten drei unvergesslich tolle Tage im Khao Sok Nationalpark verbracht, dank unserer tollen Begleiterin/Guide P.A.Nach diversen Touren in den letzten Jahren war es das erste mal, dass unser Guide mit Fahrer bereits am Hotel auf uns wartete (sogar deutsch sprach) und nicht wie üblich man selbst noch ewig warten muss- toller Start!Erfreulicherweise war das nicht nur Zufall sondern P.A. hat die drei Tage super organisiert, ist auf unsere individuellen Wünsche eingegangen und hat uns unglaublich viel zum Park und seinen Tieren erklärt ohne uns dabei mit Infos zu überladen.Highlights waren natürlich das Baden mit einem Elefanten (kein Elefantenreiten) und die Kanutour am ersten Tag bei der wir viele Affen und Schlangen sahen!Am zweiten Tag ging es dann mit dem Boot tief in den National park und mein Fazit: WOW! Die Natur ist unglaublich, das Wasser sauber, die Berge gigantisch und die Geräuschkulisse der Tiere unglaublich faszinierend.Wir waren zu unterschiedlichen Uhrzeiten unterwegs, wodurch wir auch wieder unterschiedliche Eindrücke der Natur am Mittag, am Abend und zum Sonnenaufgang von der Natur und den Tieren erhielten. Highlight war neben vielen Wunderschönen Vogelarten, dass wir in der freien Wildbahn einen Elefanten am Ufer entdeckten.Tipp: für die Wanderung möglichst feste Schuhe, lange Hosen und lange Socken anziehen. Warum? Es gibt Blutegel, die sich auf eure Knöchel freuen 😁 natürlich hatte ich das nicht dabei, aber P.A. hat mich mit einem Zitronenspray versorgt das die Egel nicht mögen und mich von einem befreit, der mich doch erwischte - DANKE nochmal für die Rettung 😂Kurz zu den Übernachtungen: Das Baumhaus, einfach hervorragend, tolle Lage, tolle Zimmer, Essen sehr gut und die Anlage schön gestaltet. Die zweite Nacht in der Bambushütte sehr minimalistisch aber vollkommen ausreichend, Abenteuer pur und zu empfehlen! Wer schläft schonmal umgeben von wilden Tieren und deren Lauten in völliger Dunkelheit (auch toll um Sterne anzusehen!) und fragt sich, was wohl gerade um die Hütte schleicht. Aber keine Angst, der Rancher und Guide waren direkt nebenan 😉Vielen Dank für die unvergesslichen Abenteuer und klare Weiterempfehlung!!!
