Our guide was lovely and accommodating....

Our guide was lovely and accommodating. He allowed for a bathroom/coffee break on the way to Phuket and engaged with us during the drive and kept the longish journey pleasant and upbeat. It was a small group consisting of four couples and he ensured everyone was taken care of. The big Buddha statue is currently temporarily closed, so he took us to another local temple which was a nice touch, as it was beautiful. We had plenty of time to spend in the market, no pressure or feeling of being rushed - make sure to keep hydrated as it's very stuffy and crowded (as expected) but we were surprised at how good some of the prices were - we expected them to be more expensive in Phuket. Highly recommend if you want to make sure you visit Phuket during your stay - we were happy to get back to peaceful Khao Lak afterwards, but glad we had the opportunity to visit.

This tour was way over priced...

This tour was way over priced for what you get. The guide was annoying and the food was terrible. The first day was a waste of time and was not responsible tourism in my opinion. The first day started with a 1 hour visit to a small market which only warranted 15 minutes. Next we went to feed the elephants at a 'sanctuary'. The elephants looked so sad. Next we went to the temple to feed monkeys which was terrifying due to how aggressive the monkeys were. The treehouses had a strong chemical smell and were so brightly lit that I could still read at night with the curtains closed. The second day was decent and was spent at the national park touring the lake. I would just book a day tour to the lake. The cave walk and jungle walk were heavily crowded. A small amount of coordination between the guides would space out the crowds. The Kayaks at the lake were fun, but there was only enough Kayaks for 20% of the people so if you want one you need to basically skip lunch.
