Ursprünglich verdienten die Menschen hier ihr Einkommen durch Fischfang, Palmöl- und Gummibaumplantagen, und davor war die Gegend aufgrund des Zinnbergbaus wohlhabend, ein wichtiger Teil der Geschichte dieser Gegend.
