Sowohl das Abholen mit der Weiterfahrt nach Phuket als auch der Rücktransport von Khao Lak hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Kindersitz für einen 2 jährigen war wie bestllt dabei, der Minivan sauber und der Fahrstil ordentlich.

Second time we have used Land Discovery (first two years ago) and impressed this time as well. We were in Khao Lak for ten days and arranged two trips. The staff in the office on the 'high street' are all very well versed in the product, full of advice and engaging. because it was our second time with them and my wife's 50th birthday, we managed to negotiate a good price on both trips.Bathing with Elephants - 11:30 pick up from hotel was on-time and the Thai lady guide was brilliant (if not vocal!). The day consists of a quick brief on the camp, a 40 minute or so ride on the elephants up and down a hill and through some 'jungle' and then about 30 minutes in the pool with your elephant which was great. We also saw a month old calf with Mum which was nice. From there, it is a 40 minute ride to a waterfall where you can have a cooling dip and then a very good Thai lunch (better than you would expect). Then it is back to the hotel for around 4:00PM. Note: There is a lot of controversy about the elephants and the way they are trained and treated. All I can say is they appeared to be well treated whilst we were there but there were two that were trained including the nursing mother (maybe to stop her being aggressive with her calf). The animals were all 'friendly' and great to be in the water with. I have to admit though, we would maybe think again about doing this for the third time due to some recent reports. It's a fine balance I guess between the experience and enjoyment and the welfare of the animals themselves.Surin Islands - Excellent day and the best trip yet. Pick up at 7:30 am from the hotel and a trip to the Northern Pier. Good briefing there, meet the staff and have breakfast (if you have not stuffed yourself at the hotel first!). The boat trip is around 90 minutes in a good sized boat - sit in the front if you can but mind the sun. The day starts with a 45 minute snorkel, then a trip to the Moken 'Sea Gypsies' village. Then its on to lunch and a great beach via a Long Tail boat transfer. Lunch again was great and well worth the inclusive deal. After that it is back to a different location for another 45 minute snorkel and then return to the mainland, getting back to the hotel at around half four. Water, fizzy drinks, fruit and snacks are supplied freely on the boat each way. If you are thinking of the Similian Islands or Surin - please do this. We have done both and this is 100% better. Less crowded by far, better snorkelling and better service.In sum, another two very well organised trips from a company that is experienced and seems to know what it is doing. Well recommended, particularly for these two trips (with the caveat on the elephants)

Nous avons fait plusieurs sorties avec eux Similan, temples, ballades éléphants,.... Hugues connaît bien le pays et parle le Français, pour sur il est Belge. Par contre si vous ne sortez pas avec lui et que vous ne parlez pas Anglais ou Allemand, mieux vaut reporter votre sortie.

Nous remercions Joëlle, notre guide belge extrêmement sympathique, de nous avoir permis de découvrir cette très belle région à travers les paysages verdoyants, un marché typique odorant et une descente de rivière en canoë rafraîchissante. Elle aime son nouveau pays et nous le fait partager. :-) Personnellement, nous avions des à priori sur la ballade à dos d'éléphant, mais nous avons pu constater que les kornacs ne brusquent pas ces magnifiques pachydermes et le décor traversé en vaut la peine. Le chauffeur que nous avons eu était, lui aussi, aux petits soins pour nous. Bref, une belle première journée de découverte.

Elefantentrekking mit Bootsfahrt durch den Dschungel: Das Elefantencamp wirkte sehr seriös und die Tiere schienen in einem gut gepflegten Zustand, der Umgang der Massouds mit den Tieren war respekt- und vertrauensvoll. Die Menschen waren alle sehr freundlich und machten den Tag für uns zu einem besonderen Erlebnis. Das Essen im Rock- and Treehouse war supergut und die Atmosphäre herrlich entspannt.2. Similan-Inslands: Hier zeigte sich der große Vorteil dieses Anbieters: Die frühen Abfahrtszeiten (ich glaube es war gegen 5 oder 6 Uhr) ermöglichen es einem, an diese wunderbaren Orte zu gelangen, bevor sie von den anderen Reisegruppen, die am Strand anlanden wir am D-Day, regelrecht überrannt werden. Schnorcheln in dieser unglaublichen Vielzahl atemberaubender Fische ist einfach ein Traum, wenn auch die lange Fahrt auf dem Schnellboot etwas schlaucht.3. Hong-Tour: Die tollste Tour überhaupt, im Morgengrauen ist es hier herrlich still, das Licht super zum Fotografieren, die Schönheit der Natur unbeschreiblich. Unbedingt probieren!
