The write up is a bit misleading. It is not a bad tour despite my 2 star rating, if it was what you were expecting. For our family it was just too much driving and too little activity.
It went something like this:
8.45 pick up
13.00 lunch
And between these times there was one 40 break of walking to a waterfall. Some of that driving was in a nature reserve but it's a very long drive for a waterfall that, although nice, was not impressive.
The afternoon had 40 min canoe in a mangrove Forrest. This was great, different scenery and very peaceful. And 25 min at a temple.
Drop off was after 4.30 so again a lot of driving.The driving was all in the back of an open air safari truck in the wind and baking sun. Definitely apply your sun block before starting the tour
We have booked a 2-day Safari Tour tree house. The activities were basically fine, but unfortunately our German-speaking guide with Dutch descent made a dent in our minds. He was unmotivated, disinterested and gave us only terse answers when we had questions. During the activities he usually never said anything about it, we had to discover for ourselves. Also, he was never with our group when we had lunch or dinner, he preferred to be alone and roll his cigarettes. The highlight was then at the reservoir. At the landmark with the 3 stones we wanted to take a person photo from the boat, which unfortunately could not because it was too cumbersome for the boat captain. Everyone else around could. We are very disappointed by the 2 days. You could have made more of it, in that sense you could have saved the guide. So we cannot recommend Khao Lak Land Discovery!
