An excellent day out .
We booked this day trip through our hotel “ Flora Khao Lak “
Our guide was Anne , who had an excellent knowledge of the places we were going to visit .
The trip is called the Khao Lak Safari . We bathed Asian elephants, rafted down a river on a bamboo raft, visited the Royal Navy Turtle Conservation Centre, lunched by the river and swam under a waterfall.
We visited the Police boat , which was carried several kilometres by the Tsunami , in 2004.
Last but not least, we visited a traditional Buddhist temple .
The cost for this full day trip was : Adult - 3000. Child - (ages4-12) 2450 . Children three and under , free.Bathing the elephants was a real treat. Rafting , a first for me, was fun . My only negative was that there could have been a seat back to lean against and give some support . I have problems with my back , so this would have been helpful .
Lunch was excellent, a lovely choice of food and flavours.
The Turtle Centre , was originally an idea from the Queen of Thailand , a rescue centre , where the turtles could grow and be released when ready .
To sum up our day : Anne was a gem of a guide, full of fun and knowledge ( Thank you Anne )
Well worth the 3000 THB we paid .
Well done 🦋

All in all it was a good tour and our guide Dee was great! The speed boat was modern and in good condition, and the islands where stunning. Even though it is an early bird tour there were a lot of people in the locations already (although not as bad as later in the day). The lunch that was served wasn't very good and I recommend eating a lunch at e.g. McDonald's or any of the other restaurants on Phi Phi if you want to have better meal.
