Wir haben bei Khao Lak Discovery 3 Touren gebucht (Offroad Safari, Khao Lak Safari und Tagestrip zu den Phi Phi Islands) Der Ablauf aller 3 Touren hat einwandfrei funktioniert von der Abholung vom Hotel bis zur Ankunft wieder im Hotel. Die Tour Guides sind super nett. Bei allen 3 Touren hatten wir deutsche Guides dabei, die auch so rund um Thailand und Khao Lak sehr viel wissenwertes und interessantes zu erzählen hatten. Es war überall ein Mittagessen dabei und Getränke zwischendurch.Am besten haben uns die Phi Phi Islands gefallen, da haben wir auch noch ein Video und Unterwasserfotos von uns beim Schnorchen kaufen können. Super Erinnerungen für die Ewigkeit.

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht. Nach 15minütiger Fahrt und anschliessender 10minütiger Wanderung am Stand für 2,0 Std. ausgesetzt. Dann 10minütige Wanderung zurück zum Boot, Fahrt zum anderen Ende der Halbinsel mit Essen und anschliesssendem Schnorcheln oder Angeln. (ca.1,5 Std.). Dann zurück zum Hafen. Alle Getränke mussten selber bezahlt werden. Und das alles in 6,0 Std.

If you are looking for a day excursion from Khao Lak, and want to experience the colour and fun of snorkeling on coral reefs, then I highly recommend this trip offered by Khao Lak Land Discovery. Their bus picked us up from the JW Marriott in Khao Lak at 7.30am and we were at the dock at Baan Nam Kem by 8.15. After a briefing and making payment (please note cash and credit cards are accepted - debit cards not accepted), at 8.50 we boarded the high speed boat for the voyage to our first dive spot at the Surin Islands. This took just over one hour, but can take longer if weather conditions are not as favourable. This is to be honest, a boring trip, with not much to see and the noise of the three outboard motors making conversation or even music listening very difficult. However as you plunge into the crystal clear waters and catch your first glimpse of the colourful reef fish, all is forgiven (if not forgotten). The water clarity and temperature were great, but the actual coral was mainly brown and dead, with only the occasional more colourful species to be seen. But the fish were stunningly beautiful and plentiful and 45 minutes here passed quickly. The Village that is home to the Mokan people was our next destination. It was interesting and very picturesque, but I felt a little sorry for the people, who seemed to have little to do but offer hand made trinkets for sale to the tourists. A short trip to another island and we were at our lunch destination in a national park. The buffet lunch was good and we were given an hour to swim and look around this beautiful place. Other tour groups arrived too. We were called back onto our boat at 13.50, and by 14.10 we were back in the water for another snorkelling session. This reef had less fish but better and more colourful, healthy coral. Back onto the boat by 15.00 before we set course for our home port which we reached around 16.00. The day was well organized and very enjoyable. The tour guides spoke English, French and German and addressed us as three separate groups. Thanks to Tania, our Thai, English -speaking guide.
