Spend a day full of culture and religion. See the most amazing three temples around and get insight into a buddhist’s belief.
Experience a whole day full of culture, religion, sightseeing, sounds and flavours… Visit together with us the three most important, most delightful and most interesting temples in the province of Phang Nga.
Our amazing three temples:
Dragon Cave Temple: an impressive limestone cave that features local herbal medicine (to lower blood cholesterol) made by the residential monks.
Bang Rieng Pagoda Temple: a combination of three different temple styles – Thai, Chinese and Jedi. Being build up on the back of a mountain it offers a nice view. Another special feature; it keeps a tooth of Buddha in a shrine.
Manisii Maha Tat Temple: unmissable with a huge statue of the monk Por Than Klai and a beautiful main temple building.
Volker’s informative stories and knowledge of the temples added another dimension to the experience. Excellent

It was an amazing and educational day with Jenny at the temples. As a practicing Buddhist herself, she was able to offer an inspirational insight drawing from personal experiences. Her lovely lively personality shone through the whole day, even during the downpour and when she had to deal with an unwell client, which delayed things a bit. Niphon our driver was efficient moving us quickly between temples. Lunch was delicious and scenic sat overlooking the river. The monkeys were a delight at the final temple and we even saw an elephant en route. My final comment has to mention Jenny from Khao Lak Land Discovery again as without her knowledge and fun outlook the day wouldn’t have been so good. 10/10 Jenny and sincere thanks.

The Theravada Buddhism is the predominant religion of Thailand, practiced by about 94 % of the population. It is especially emphasising the values of respect, kindness and tolerance. Monks are persons of high standing in Thai society. And a temple is a religious place, therefore an appropriate behaviour and dressing is important.
Furthermore, faith is a well-established part of everyday life here and closely linked to old traditions. You can find, for example, a spirit house in front of almost every building. It serves for the spirits which were banished from the land due to people building their own house on it. To keep them in a good mood they get a little something every day, like flowers, water or food.
