Khao Lak Land Discovery LTD Part. (KLLD) was founded in 1999 by Mr Sorat Srisuwan and Mrs Yuwadee Pranwerapaibul, then the GM of Tropicana Beach Bungalow in Karon Beach, Phuket and the Owner of Tropicana Beach Resort, Khao Lak in Thailand. Initially, the intention was to support Hotels with a transfer and tour service, but the high demand in tourism related services in the wider Khao Lak area, quickly turned the company into a growing commercial venture, offering services to local as well as international third parties.

Khao Lak Land Discovery is truly unique in that it is the only company in existence offering programmes of small group scheduled tours for the FIT market, at the same time representing international Travel Companies and their service needs locally.

Today KLLD is one of the most trusted and reliable tour and service operators in Phangnga; including flight handling, resort wholesale allocation, bookings, Representative Services, etc.

KLLD is a market led organisation, operating a fleet of 15 vehicles (from Land Rover to Coaches with up to 19 seats) and concentrates on providing efficient and cost-effective services for small group transport movements. The company is fully licensed by the Ministry of Transport and has appropriate public liability indemnity cover. The company has three main areas of activity:

It offers extended tours (both scheduled and customised) in southern Thailand
It operates several travel and tourism service offices in Khao Lak, and
It contracts its overall tourism services to those parties requiring transportation, representation and assistance for their international clients in Khao Lak.

The majority of work is from incoming tourist groups whether with a package operator or as individual travellers.

KLLD is a proactive travel organization in the Thai tourism industry for the last 10 years. We are a professionally managed, closely held agency and management control is still the responsibility of the first generation entrepreneurs. Transaction level operations are executed by a team of qualified professionals, who are well versed with the complexities of Travel & Tourism Trade. Our guest service team (from Germany, Austria, Sweden and Switzerland) has a cumulative experience of 50 man-years in tourism industry. The team is well aware and equipped to cater to requirements of various market segments and understands the nuances of tourism in Thailand.

Since foundation the company has enjoyed controlled growth of up to 10% per annum with much of the growth coming from repeat and referral bookings. New tour development is driven by repeat clients but above all by our professionally trained guides.

Khao Lak Land Discovery LTD. is recognized by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Thailand, as a tour operator and travel agent. Apart from the official recognition, we are also proud to be associated with some of the national and international august bodies in travel and tourism industry.

We represent a growing number of travel agents, tour operators around the world, mainly from Europe (Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Scandinavia). All our partners are extensively happy with our services and the amount of value added services we do for them. We always try to go extra miles in helping our travel agents, tour operators, industry associates.

KLLD has the widest affiliation of resorts, hotels, safari vessels, Boats and others in the tourism trade of Khao Lak. Our staffs are able to offer you the best ground service; we handle any inbound operation, whether it's large or small, charter flight handling, or exclusive sale of whole resorts. Resort sales allotments to meet & greet service at airport, excursions arrangements to full representation of your agency are all what we are capable of doing. We have been operating a variety of activity-based tours for Groups and individual tourists and have been able to mastermind them with great deal of efficiency. KLLD tours are designed around small numbered groups with excellent guide services in different languages (Thai, English, German and Swedish), who visit sites and attractions not on the main tourist route, and see the essential icons at times when larger parties are not there.

The company specializes in inbound tours and offers a host of tourism related services to inbound tourists in Thailand. Besides meet & greet services, representational tasks, we offer various tours as follows:
Cultural tours, adventure tours, beach tours, eco tourism, festival holidays, golf tours, art and crafts tour, honeymoons, heritage holidays, museum tours, backwater tours, wildlife tours, Snorkel and Diving excursions, Game fishing, religious tours, yoga & meditation tours, Rejuvenation & Spa tours, jungle safaris, special interest tours, conferences, incentives and much more in and around Phangnga Province.

Approximately 1000 departures and over 20 different itineraries are offered during any one season. In addition to extensive coverage of the Phangnga Province (Similan Islands, Khao Sok, Khao Na Yak, James Bond Island, etc.), tours are also offered in the whole of southern Thailand (Krabi, Trang, Phuket, Satun, etc). Special theme tours, marketed under a cultural topic (Temples, city life local farming, etc.) and 'Explorer' brands (Discovery – Nature Tours) are also offered. These range from snorkel / diving tours to Jungle- and Canoe or Elephant treks.
KLLD tour products are featured in many Hotels in the Khao Lak area and beyond (e.g. Phuket), in different Vacations brochures and other publications.
However, KLLD has been at the forefront of internet marketing and since 1999 has published its programme through a web site.
The company does use General Sales Agents and, unlike many other tour operators, it does not use the internet to bypass agents totally. KLLD is appointing accredited agents as local representatives. These enjoy favourable commissions, have territorial exclusivity, and receive advertising leads from generic adverts placed by KLLD.
