Khao Lak Land Discovery

You would like to explore the local area a bit more? We offer you a full day of action and relaxation in the nature around Khao Lak. The accessibility of treks and natural sights change during the season and with new attractions it's hard to tell when we go where, but be assured it will be fantastic and includes the following activities:

On a jungle trek by foot, lasting 2-3 hours, our guide will bring you into the Khao Lak Lamru Nationalpark to climb, trek, observe and wonder in this ancient rainforest.
Lunch time is relax time and we take it literally. What better way to relax than under a "cool jungle shower" - a waterfall in the forest. Refreshed by local delicacies, served in a beautiful environment.
On the back of an elephant it's definitely more relaxing to enjoy the beauty of the tropical nature than by foot, but do not underestimate the rolling moves of this beloved animal and hold on tight! Our little elephant safari will last approximately 1,5 hours.

Assuming you don't have a day to explore the local area, or some other plans for later (or earlier) in the day already? We offer the Local Discovery also as a half day tour, though it will not include the amazing jungle trek.
But therefore we will spend some more time with the local banana powered jungle taxi! So, you will have more possibilities to interact with the largest land mammal on earth. The Elephant is closely connected to Thai history and culture and the Thais regard this amazingly strong yet gentle animal as holy.
On our way back to the Hotel we try to make a stop, whether at the cashew nut or the rubber farm, depending which one is in season.
Of course lunch is included as well and we make sure you have enough time to enjoy and relax in the beautiful tropical nature.

You would like to explore the local area a bit more and your interests are more cultural rather than in the nature? We offer you a full day of exploration north of Khao Lak. With different events, festivals, markets, etc during the season and with new sights coming up it's hard to tell when we go where, but we will include the following activities:

Nam Kem: After visiting the International Tsunami Memorial, we will take Sea Canoes out into the Mangrove forest for an hour or so and try to find out why this kind of forest is so important for the ecosystem.
Takuapa Town and Market: Our District Capital -Takuapa- has an interesting Old Town and Temples which are strongly influenced by Chinese immigrants. There is an everyday market with typical products of the region and of course there are more than enough possibilities to sample the local delicacies.
Also in Takuapa we will have lunch and some coffee in a typical Thai Coffee shop at the river. Maybe it's even possible to have a look at the elementary School to see if the kids are doing their English lessons well.
